March for Babies

When we found out we were pregnant with twins (this seems like it was eons ago), we decided that I wouldn’t go back to work right away. I worked until I really couldn’t work any more and haven’t gone back to work just yet. Once we reached a point where it seemed like our kiddos were starting to get really healthy and strong, I felt ready to do something to give back to the community that helped us save our kids from the various perils of being born a little too soon. I take the NICU staff donuts a few times a year and we thank them publicly as much as we can, but that never seems to be quite enough.

Then the opportunity to be a March of Dimes ambassador family fell into our laps last October. Being the ambassador family for the Albuquerque Chapter of the March of Dimes may not let us directly help the people who do the hard work of keeping babies alive, but it does allow us to help raise awareness about prematurity and it’s many lasting implications. If you haven’t already seen our ambassador family video, take a look:

On May 7th, we’ll be joining many other New Mexico families in the March for Babies to raise funds and awareness for prematurity. If you feel so inclined, please donate to our cause or join our team! For details check out this link: https://www.marchforbabies.org/gilligantwins
